Short Tour to Bhutan

Trip Overview

Bhutan, the land of thunder dragon is one of the few unexplored tourist destinations in the world. It has been famous for its pristine environment and rich biodiversity. Buddhism is entrenched in every aspect of Bhutanese life. The Bhutanese call themselves Drukpas. As a country that has remained independent throughout its history, Bhutan opened up to modern development in the 1960s. The culture, rituals, festivals are not affected by the effects of modernization. It stands as a unique nation that blends modernization with its tradition and culture.

This trek provides maximum satisfaction to the visitors within a short span of time.

Day to Day Itinerary

Arrival at Kathmandu airport and then transfer to hotel.

Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. We visit Kathmandu Durbar, Patan Durbar, Swayambhu, Baudha, Pashupatinath, and Krishna Temple. We go to Nagarkot at night. We view sun rise and sun set from Nagarkot.

We take early flight to Paro. In the afternoon, we go for Paro sightseeing.

After breakfast, we drive for Taktsang monastry which is about eight kilometers north of Paro. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche mediated for three months in this monastery. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria near the monastery. In the afternoon, we drive to Thimphu. It takes about an hour and a half on a normal drive to reach Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Dinner will be served in a hotel.

Full day sightseeing in Thimphu. It includes visit to National Library, Painting School, National Memorial Chorten, Semtokha Dzong, Tashichhodzong, etc.

We take early drive to Wangdiphodrang. We drop at Dochula pass situated at 3,140 meters and take refreshment. This beautiful pass offers a clear view of the Himalayas. After refreshments, we continue to Punakha. Lunch will be served at a hotel. After having lunch, we go for sightseeing in Punakha and Wangduephodrang. Return to hotel where dinner will be served.

Today, we drive to Thimphu after serving breakfast. Lunch will be dined in a hotel. After having lunch, we visit market and proceed to Paro.

After an early breakfast, we will board our flight to Kathmandu. In the afternoon, we go for shopping.

Back to home destination.
